I am very big on treasuring little keepsakes and keeping photos and things for memories.
I always had a little memory box growing up which I filled with things from holidays, things I had when I was a baby, letters from my Grandma etc...
I don’t often get to look in it but maybe once every couple of years I sit and have a look through and reminisce.
It’s such a lovely thing to have.
So.. when I found out I was pregnant I decided to start a little keepsake box for the baby.
I started with a baby book / photo album - I didn’t want one of the ones that you buy in the shops because you only get to fill in the blanks and I wanted to be able to do it all myself.
So far we have filled almost a whole book already and baby isn’t even here yet!
But this will be so special for them to keep for when they are older.
I’d certainly recommend doing something like this for your little one.. even if you haven’t started one yet you could still make one whilst your memory is still fresh.
I will pop some ideas below that we used to fill the book:
❤️ The story of how Mummy and Daddy met, when he proposed and our wedding day
❤️ How we found out that we were expecting you and how excited we were.
❤️ Scan pictures
❤️ When we found out that you were a baby girl
❤️ Letters from family members saying how excited they are to meet you
❤️ Regular pregnancy updates - feeling you kick etc
❤️ Regular bump photos every 3-4 weeks
❤️ A little envelope with wishes inside for you - Example, we wish you happiness, we wish you a lifetime of love, we wish you health etc
(This part will be special for them to look at in years to come if they are ever having any down days or ever feel lonely)
We will pop in more photos once baby arrives, and we also have a 2nd book which can be filled with photos from one of their many upcoming photoshoots in my studio, their funny moments, funny things they say and do as they grow etc
