You've booked your baby's 6-9 month siting up photoshoot, and you can't wait to capture this amazing time. This shoot is all about that super cheeky personality, those cute chubby thighs, and that first tooth poking through. However we all know how unpredictable our little ones can be, and so I have put together a quick list of tips that you can use to help you prepare for this shoot
Well rested
Having your baby well rested and ready to go is probably the most important tip, because we all know how things can quickly change when they are tired. Consider leaving for your photoshoot earlier so they can nap in the car.
Full Belly
Food in the belly makes a happy baby, so I’d definitely recommend scheduling in a meal before their shoot, and bringing some drinks and snacks with you too
Comfort
Bring their favourite comforter/blanket, as they will most likely need a little break half way so something to give them a little reset is a good idea
Get involved
Mama, prepare to be in the photos. I’d always recommend jumping in at least one or two photos during these sessions, but the odd time a parent HAS to, as our little ones can have clingy days. So consider your outfit just incase.
Don’t set expectations
If you think your baby will sit and do everything you want ‘perfectly’ then think again. We can always plan for a shoot and have ideas/requests in place, but my sessions are baby led so they run the show.. but this is how we get the beautifully natural shots that will become your favourites
I hope that some of these tips have given you some peace of mind, some reassurance that your shoot will be super fun when we allow baby to be the boss of it, and that you are excited for your photoshoot just as much as I am.
If you haven't yet booked your baby's sitting up photoshoot then id recommend that you pop me a message as soon as you can to get something pencilled into the diary. These sessions are so much fun, and are best for when baby is around 6-9 months and sitting up unaided
I can't wait to meet you both
