I have always been a shutter bug, having a passion for documenting life with images. What I didn't anticipate was how that passion would turn into a future career... Something that would be so important to the people that I would be providing it for.
When I see the faces of my customers viewing their pictures for the first time, the emotions and happiness coming from them when they see their newborn baby in an image.. That feeling just can't be put into words!
Images can be very powerful, not just for the memories they bring but also for the stories that they tell to others. They are so much more then a simple record. Pictures connect us to people and feelings in many different ways. They make us feel connected to family members that we never met, they let us remember our loved ones, they help parents to remember how tiny their children once were.. They tie us to people, places and bring out all sorts of emotions.
There is a desire to share what we find beautiful and interesting, whether it be landscapes, lifestyle images or family portraits. They are all things that we can continue to share with others.
Nowadays we can use photographs for almost anything, printed photo albums, wall art in our living room, lockets on a necklace.. printed onto T shirts, mugs, calendars, gifts.. and even sharing online. Being able to share preserved time is so special.
When people get asked 'What is the first thing that you would save in a fire?' the most frequent answer is 'My photo album' .. and I would completely agree!
Of course we can store memories in our minds, but overtime these can fade, so the next best thing to keep those memories permanent are photographs... A little piece of that frozen moment for you to keep forever.
