Christmas gifts for expectant Mums
We have all been there when we are racking our brains trying to find that perfect Christmas gift for an expectant Mum. You don’t want to get them something that they can’t use for months or something that they won’t enjoy whilst they are pregnant, and so I have put together a little list of things that I myself would of loved and got a lot of satisfaction from when I was pregnant with my little one
Firstly let’s start with practical gifts
A pregnancy pillow - No matter what stage of pregnancy they are at a pregnancy pillow is a must.
Sleeping can get so uncomfortable.. and to be honest it starts to seem like a chore. I had my pillow from quite early on and I used it every night, and even after baby arrived.
Comfort is everything!
A gift voucher for their favourite online shop or clothing store - Being able to buy some super comfy loungewear, pyjamas or soft slippers is everything when you are expecting. Not only do you soon grow out of your clothes (literally) but it is also nice to have new things to wear when you are spending more time than normal at home and resting whilst on maternity leave
Prenatal classes - This isn’t something that gets thought about a lot during pregnancy and so this would certainly be a lovely surprise. Depending on what kind of activity they usually like would depend on what class would suit them best. There are so many prenatal classes available these days, for example prenatal swimming, hypnobirthing, gentle keep fit classes or prenatal yoga
Now moving on to some memorable gift ideas
Maternity photoshoot - Most pregnant women lose confidence and don’t feel their best at this time. What better way to make them feel extra special than a maternity photoshoot. They can get all dressed up and feel great about themselves again, plus they get some lovely memories to keep forever
Hand and foot castings or bump Castings - This is a lovely gift that can be for mum or for baby.
Hand and foot castings can be done when baby is very young, capturing their tiny hands and feet and usually displaying it in a box frame.
Bump castings is a cast that can be taken of Mum’s baby bump as it grows. This can either be left plain and stored away as a keepsake or decorated and displayed on show
Pregnancy diary - This is something that I really enjoyed doing during my pregnancy. I kept note of all of the feelings that I felt, the times that baby kicked, photos of my scan pictures, some pictures from my maternity shoot etc.
Not only was it nice to sit in the baby’s nursery and take time to fill in the diary but this is also such a precious thing to be able to look back at with my daughter when she is older
Weekend break - Now this is something that I really wish I had when I was pregnant. Whether it be a babymoon holiday abroad or a nice UK weekend break, we all need one of these before the mad rush of dirty nappies and sleepless nights. A chance to make a few more special memories with your partner before baby arrives
And lastly the perfect pamper gifts
A toiletry/beauty hamper - A beautifully presented hamper containing all of her favourite toiletries and makeup is the perfect gift for any expectant Mum. Be it bath salts and bath bombs, her favourite lipstick, or even nail varnishes, this gift is sure to make her feel extra special
Massage / beauty treatment - All women love relaxation and beauty treatments of some kind. An open voucher would be perfect so they can choose the treatment themselves. Find out where their local spa or beauty parlour is and grab them a voucher so they can treat themselves, whether it be nails, hair or a massage
