When I first started photography I went down the wedding and party route, but I very quickly realised that just wasn’t what I wanted to do.
In all honesty I felt a little lost.
I’d finally found this thing that I loved, that I enjoyed and was really passionate about, but I didn’t know where I wanted to take it.
I was still working full time in a care home and just used photography as a hobby for the next few months... but I knew I wanted to take it further.
My friends started having babies and I would practice on them, furthering my camera and editing skills...
and that’s when everything fell into place! I’d finally found what I loved to do.
I invested in some proper kit, some good courses and just worked my bum off doing free shoots to get the practice and confidence that I needed to take the next step.
I then opened the business and started charging customers... and it just went from there.
A couple of years later I had saved up enough pennies to move house and build a lovely garden studio which is now where all of my shoots take place!
It took a lot of time, patience and practice.. but I am so glad that I stuck with it as I now have my dream job and something that I love doing!
I could of given up right at the beginning when I decided I didn’t like shooting the weddings.. but if I did then I wouldn’t be where I am today - Photographing your beautiful babies and your gorgeous families!
‘Only photograph what you love’ because this is where your passion will push you!
