After Your Newborn Shoot - Behind The Scenes

There are many parts of my job that I thoroughly enjoy.. from building professional relationships with my customers, to planning & setting up for the shoot, to meeting your precious tiny newborn babies! However one of the things that I adore the most is using my creative side to retouch all of your images.

The post processing stage is done over a few days, picking out the favourites that complement each set up & angle the most, and then retouching these images on Photoshop.

Each image is different so will require different levels of retouching, however the most common tricks that I use to transform your images are:

Crop - To correct an angle or zoom in closer

Exposure - To brighten the image

Patch up - To patch up any distractions in the background

Smooth skin - Remove flaky skin from your baby

Creamy skin - smoothing out any patchy skin colours

Reduce jaundice - remove any orangey skin tones

Red patches - removing any redness from the skin

Lashes - enhancing any eye lashes or thin hairs, defining the eyes

Cheeks - making any pale cheeks rosy

All of these retouching actions are just small changes in themselves, but once they are all put together you can really see the difference!

Here are some more examples below

I hope that in the future I have the opportunity to meet you and your new babies, to transform your session into dreamy images that you can treasure forever!
