...So you are thinking about booking a photo session for your baby :) You probably have tonnes of questions regarding this. As all Photography services operate differently and have unique packages that they offer it can be very confusing to know who is the right photographer for you. Besides loving the images that you see in our portfolios it is also important to know that you are getting the right package for you and your family.
I have created some frequently asked questions that may help you find some answers:
Where will the photo session take place?
Photo sessions take place in my cosy garden studio using professional equipment and lighting. The room will be kept nice and warm and I use soothing sounds to settle your baby. I will set up for your session the day before and have plenty of props and accessories ready for your session.
How far in advance should I book my newborn session?
I take bookings for newborn sessions from as early as your 20 week scan. It is highly recommended that you book your session as early as possible from this stage to ensure availability.
What is the best age to schedule a newborn session for?
I would highly recommend scheduling your newborn session for when they are under 3 weeks of age. This is because they are more settled and sleepy within their first few days. This enables me to capture those cute curly poses that aren't always possible with an older baby. After about 3 weeks of age your baby will be more alert and has growth spurts, which can be tricky to pose.
What if my baby has already been born and I have only just found you?
If your baby has already arrived and you do not have a session booked then please contact me as I will always try my best to fit you in as soon as I can. This will however depend on my availability as I can become fully booked quite quickly.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
Once you have secured a session date I will wait to hear from you about any changes to your due date. If your baby arrives early or late then I would just ask you to let me know so we can reschedule your session as soon as possible.
What happens during the newborn session?
Once you arrive for your session and baby is fed, changed and ready to start it is time for you to sit back and relax.
This will give me the opportunity to get the images that I need and to avoid disturbing him/her as little as possible.
If needed Dad can help out with spotting baby as and when.
You are welcome to bring a book or a tablet etc to pass the time or simply enjoy watching your baby in the beautiful props.
What is the best stage to have my baby's session?
These sessions came be scheduled for any time. If your baby is not yet sitting up then we can do some fun shots on the studio bed playing on the duvet, or if your little one is sitting up then we can use my white backdrop and props.
What happens during the baby session?
Once you arrive for your session and baby is fed, changed and ready to start it is time for you to get out your silly faces and crazy singing voices to entertain your little one. We do everything we can to see those cute smiles and giggles.
What will my package include?
All packages include 10 digital images on a keepsake usb. More details about what is included in each package can be found on my pricingpage.
How do I pay for my session?
All sessions need to be secured with a 50% booking fee and the outstanding balance is due 2 weeks prior to the session date.
Payment to be made by bank transfer.
How much do the extra images cost?
Extra images cost £20 each, which can be decided after viewing.
How do I view/choose my images?
Once your images are complete and ready to view I will contact you. I will provide you with a link and password for your private online viewing gallery. The link will be active for 48hrs and you can log on and choose your preferred images. They are all numbered so you can inform me of the ones you like. Please note that the gallery is only activated for 48hrs.
How long does it take for my images to be ready?
It can take up to 3-4 weeks to prepare your gallery as each single image will be professionally retouched, so patience is greatly appreciated at this time.
