''Why don't you just try a taster course and see if you like it?'' he said back in 2011.
Id always had an interest in photography. I had the free editing software on my computer and used to retouch my holiday pictures of the night time beaches and the morning sunrises.
But it was all just a bit of fun..
Little did I know that it would turn into a real hobby and that people would soon contact me to take photos of their little ones.
I turned my whole living room upside-down so I would have somewhere to practice and shoot.
It soon led to college courses, diplomas and a part-time job.
The job then turned into my own business and a full time career.
A couple of years later and after a lot of saving we were able to move to a bigger home and build a beautiful garden studio so I had a space of my own to shoot in.
Of course there were bumps along the way, things I had to give up... and a LOT of hard work was put in..
But, every moment has been worth it!!
The business is now 3.5 years in and with bookings through until next year I thank my lucky stars every day for what I have.
Don't let anyone hold you back or tell you that you can't... follow your dreams because no-one else will do it for you
