I’ve always classed myself as a ‘light and airy’ Photographer and although I still adore this style and will always continue to shoot with this look in mind, I wanted to try something slightly different regarding newborn babies to see if it was for me.
A couple of months ago I brought 2 newborn baby models into the studio to practice a darker black & white style of shooting.
Of course the main key here was to still go for the natural authentic approach, but to make the images darker, moodier, add more depth and to show more emotion... and I think I did just that.
I fell in love with this style straight away and knew that it would be something that I’d want to offer during my newborn sessions, as well as my usual light and airy style.
Since then it’s been quite a popular request and I may even start to offer these as mini sessions too.
